Learn Better Online

Studies show students learn better online. Don't believe it? Check out page 6 of the 'Next Generation of Regional Public Education' in CESA 6's design paper.

Structure

Next Generation Schools will give students and educators creative, collaborative environments where they can research, learn and grow.

  • Regional Learning Centers will be the hubs of activity for Next Generation Schools.
Formed voluntarily by cooperating districts across the CESA 6 area as a complement to community schools, Regional Learning Centers will create an environment where students can meet and learn. The learning center will enhance thriving community high schools and provide a central resource for smaller communities.
  • Teachers will find new opportunities in Next Generation Schools.
Educators will have the opportunity to contract as district-hired teachers or as independent consultants, contracted by several districts at once. They can also work at a Regional Learning Center as a learning coach, instructor or mentor.
  • Educators will meet and collaborate at Teacher and Leader Effectiveness Centers.
Because effective teaching is critical to student success, the center will focus on supporting educators through continued professional growth, collaboration and the completion of professional certificates. This center will also provide a space for teachers to access and analyze student data and conduct research used to continuously improve education. Based on this data, educators will design new learning programs and mentoring systems as the needs of students and the community change.
