Learn Better Online

Studies show students learn better online. Don't believe it? Check out page 6 of the 'Next Generation of Regional Public Education' in CESA 6's design paper.

Student Experience

Next Generation Schools will be built around student needs.

  • Support will begin at birth.
To start students off on the path to success, families will have the option of working with an advocate. Family advocates will help provide access to medical care, day care, enrichment programs, community services and more.
  • Learning will be personalized.
When students enter Next Generation Schools, they will be matched with learning coaches. Together parents, students and learning coaches will develop a personalized educational plan to match student needs, interests and learning styles.
  • Classes will combine online and face-to-face instruction.
Students will no longer be limited by classroom walls. They’ll be able to learn online, at school and at Regional Learning Centers. A virtual reality lab will allow students to connect and collaborate on projects across the city or the globe.
  • Community interaction will benefit students and the community.
Next Generation schools will work closely with businesses and the community to create learning opportunities for students, and development opportunities for the community. Through these partnerships, student will help find solutions to real community issues.
  • Students will move on when ready.
In place of “classes” of students will be grouped by age, interests and abilities. When ready, students will take mastery tests to move on to the next level of learning.
